Acting Academy Auditions Auditions to be a part of either the Minack Musical Theatre Academy or the Minack Acting Academy. Age 11-18. Acting auditions will be in the morning and Musical Theatre auditions will be in the afternoon. Academy students spend one intense day a month working with professional practitioners and visiting speakers, such as directors, actors and West End stars, in practical workshops and talks. The Academies help talented young people develop advanced theatre skills.

Body of Water Propeller Youth Company is a dance performance company for young people based at Falmouth University’s AMATA Arts Centre, led by Grace Murdoch. For this project the company interviewed members of the Cornish community about their relationship to the Sea. Broken down into three sections the dancers and guest speakers explore; 'The Swimmers' - a playful mixed bag of people who swim in the Cornish Sea and why. 'Under the Surface' - a look at what the ocean holds below where the water meets the sky. ‘71%’ a compilation of the power and passion our community has for the great body of water that covers 71% of the Earth's surface. Duffy Beats the Devil Prepare to be transported to a colourful Penzance from days of yore with Duffy and her friends! This show by award-winning Scary Little Girls is based on the Cornish version of Rumpelstiltskin! Join us for songs and comedy, St Ives witch Maggie Figgie (and her piggy!) and of course Duffy and the Devil themselves!

Gardening on the Edge TOUR - Discover more about the Minack. Book on one of our special Guided Tours of the theatre. Henry Normal as lived by the sea for over 30 years and been inspired by it for twice as long.

Nigel Planer is a comedy legend, an actor, writer and more importantly for this show
he's a great poet. He joins Henry Normal, BBC Radio 4's 'poet in reticence' to reunite a
team that entertains, educates and informs (but mostly entertains it must be said).

Old Time Sailors Ahoy there! You are invited to board the Sailorette and join the plentiful crew, 'The Old Time Sailors', for a night of footstomping, dancing and singing! You will be sailing back to the 19th century for an immersive experience of traditional seafaring music performed in a way you have never seen before. The Motley Crew and their plethora of traditional and eclectic instruments will take you back to the time of clashing tankards, and drunken debauchery. Sing and dance along like a drunken sailor as the band perform centuries old folk and shanty songs. Roo Panes British folk singer-songwriter Roo Panes releases his new album ‘The Summer Isles’ on March 24th 2023 via Leafy Outlook following 2022’s ‘Nightjar and the Nightingale’ EP.

Encompassing both a yearning for adventure, and a keen sense of place, in ‘The Summer Isles’ Panes presents a mature and accomplished collection that explores a multitude of themes including love and refuge, childhood memories and nostalgic wonder. The breadth of emotion on show throughout the album is testament not only to Roo as a songwriter, but moreover as a person. Samson and Delilah Trebah Amphitheatre.
The Killigrew's are up to their usual devious ways in Falmouth and Queen Elizabeth is not at all happy. Sir Francis Godolphin is fighting the Spanish in Penzance and is not at all happy. Blissfully unaware and occasionally happy, the Tudor players of Penryn are staging 'Samson & Delilah.'

'Samson and Delilah' is a fun, historical drama set during the backdrop of the Spanish Armada. The tour travels along Cornish coastal communities - from Mousehole to Penryn - where the Cornish and Spanish finally meet. Two worlds are about to collide both on and off the stage!

Seth Lakeman Songs of the Sea
Westcountry folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman will be accompanied by folk singer and musician Benji Kirkpatrick and Devon singer-songwriter Alex Hart to play two unique shows at the Minack featuring songs written about the sea from his extensive back catalogue. Seth was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2005 for 'Kitty Jay'. His thrilling solo performance of the eponymous title track on live television at the time won him unanimous praise and started him on an incredible solo journey. The follow up was the gold-selling ‘Freedom Fields’, produced by his brother Sean Lakeman, which went on to become Seth’s first of 6 UK Top 40 albums and features the enduring favourite ‘Lady of the Sea’. Seth is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Kitty Jay this year.

This tale of love and mischief by the sea is for farce lovers of all ages. Written by suffragette Ethyl Smyth, it combines folk music and opera in a night of enchanting music and impish plotting and scheming by an early pioneer of the feminist movement.

The Cornish Proms Symfoni Kernow return to perform a Last Night of the Proms set at The Minack Theatre. An eclectic mix of music from classical, pop, musical theatre and Cornish tunes with the traditional Proms finale. Performed by a 16 piece orchestra and 4 singers, you will hear a beautiful version of Abide With Me which has the Last Post echoing throughout it. There will be a medley of songs from the two world wars which has great hits like Run Rabbit Run, White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again – great for an audience sing-a-long. The Oggymen For over a decade, The Oggymen have championed contemporary Cornish folk music and celebrated those songs that bind us to our landscape, to our community, and to our past. The Pirates of Penzance Cambridge University’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society is thrilled to return to the Minack Theatre for the 50th year, with the duo’s most acclaimed and adored musical swashbuckler. Finally in his 21st year, Fredric is able to free himself from his apprenticeship to the Pirate King and his useless crew. Immediately upon venturing into the Cornish coast, Frederic encounters the Major General’s gaggle of daughters, falling head over heels for the beautiful Mabel. Yet their happy future is in jeopardy: the pirates are not ready to part with Frederic yet, and a loophole in his contract leaves the former apprentice in a very sticky situation. Will Frederic be able to leave the motley crew once and for all - and will Mabel wait for him to do so?
