A Midsummer Night's Dream TREBAH - Four young lovers, five amateur players and a warring fairy host descend on the same forest in one evening. What could possibly go wrong!?

As the lines between reality and illusion begin to blur, no-one but the mischievous Puck knows what is true and what is magic...

Troubadour’s take on Shakespeare’s classic comedy will transport you from your local forest, field, hall or dell to a truly magical midsummer dream. It is a production both epic and intimate, designed to be enjoyed by all the family. It is packed with original songs and plenty of wonder.

Did you know?

Midsummer is traditionally the night when the barrier between the fae and mortal world is most weak. In our production we lean into that otherworldly merger- in amongst the play of sprites, the magic, the music, the forest setting, what might happen when you become the plaything of immortals?

Praise for previous shows:

'You really lifted my spirits. My heartfelt congratulations to you all' - Hugh Bonneville

'Great production' - Dan Snow

'Troubadour Stageworks is full of young talent' - The Fleet Street Quarter

'Its a whirlwind. It's magic. It's a thing to behold.' - BBC Radio London

The Rink book by Terrance McNally, music by Fred Ebb, Lyrics by John Kander
presented by the British Theatre Academy

Anna, the owner of a roller rink near an old amusement park, has decided to sell the rink to developers and to leave town. Years ago, her daughter Angel left town to find herself. Anna’s husband, Dino, had passed away, leaving Anna both alone and completely free of responsibility. However, shortly after the rink is sold and scheduled to be torn down, Angel returns to town wanting to return to the people and places she grew up with, specifically the rink. Anna immediately rejects her daughter and explains that the rink will soon be gone along with the rest of the nearby amusement park. Through a series of flashbacks, revelations, and minimal forward-moving plot development, the two eventually deal with their pasts, reconcile, and move forward with their lives. This rarely performed Broadway show was a star vehicle for Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera and came from dynamic duo Kander & Ebb who brought us the huge hits Chicago & Cabaret
